Outage Map - How it works

The outage map uses color-coded symbols to indicate the number and location of customers without power in the service area.

  • The Legend tab to the left of the map explains how the color-coded outage symbols indicate the number and location of customers without service.

Checking the 'Areas Served' box will display the exact LG&E and KU/ODP service area over the map.

  • The Summary tab to the left of the map provides additional information by county and by ZIP code in an easy to read table. The columns can be sorted numerically or alphabetically by clicking on a column's title.

  • Place your mouse pointer over a color-coded outage symbol () for information about the outage and to zoom in for a closer look.

  • By selecting the County radio button option, the map will switch to color-coded shaded areas, to give an overview of customers without power in our service territory.

  • By selecting the ZIP radio button option, the map will switch to color-coded shaded areas of zip codes, to give an overview of customers without power in our service territory.

  • The Go To tab to the lower left of the map allows you to return to the Overview Map or navigate to a specific address or municipality of your choice.
  • For a specific address, enter an address, town and state, or ZIP code in the Go to Address box and click the green arrow button. If you don't know the full address, type in as much as you can.
  • For a specific county or zip code, type it into the second line and click on the green arrow button.
  • You may also select a county from the Go to County drop-down and click on the green arrow button next to it.

  • The Favorites tab allows you to save any map view for future use to quickly move from one location on the map to another. You can name the current view anything you like, such as "Home", "Work", or even "Grandma's house." Click the green arrow next to the name field to save that favorite for future use later without having to navigate the map. You can then select the Favorites drop down and see the views you've saved.

You can delete a Favorite by selecting it and clicking the red 'X' icon.
