How does it work?
To apply for a rebate, customers should request an application if they are installing/upgrading their facility's lighting, motors/pumps and/or refrigeration. A completed and signed application form must be submitted prior to the project completion. This form should include the estimated quantity per measure type and the estimated date of completion/installation. Upon approval of the submitted application, we will forward an Installation Confirmation Form to the customer to complete and submit within 90 days after the equipment is installed and operable. Customers will be required to provide proof of purchase, as well as the installation details of qualifying energy efficient equipment (including the date the equipment is operable and the manufacturer's data sheet). Rebates greater than $600 will be reported to the IRS unless documentation of tax exempt status is provided. Am I eligible? Rebates will be available to all Commercial (business) customers who pay a DSM charge on their monthly LG&E/KU bill. (This line item is located under the "Electric Charges" section of the customer's bill.) Customers must receive their electric service from LG&E or KU to be eligible. Gas-only customers will not be eligible. New construction projects are not eligible for rebates under this program. Customers must provide proof of purchase and installation of qualifying energy efficient equipment, along with location information and certification of the equipment being replaced. Each installation is subject to site verification selection, particularly where large rebates are involved, to ensure the rebate request meets the program guidelines and the installation has been completed. For self-installed projects, LG&E/KU may require site verification. Further, self-installed labor costs are not eligible for rebates. Equipment efficiency requirements are subject to change, as Federal Energy Policy Law changes. Further, rebates are subject to change, based on changes in the marketplace. LG&E/KU will post all changes at eon-us.com\commaudit and also will reflect changes/updates on program materials. Applications deemed eligible prior to the date the rebates changed will be eligible for the rebate amount in effect at the time the application was submitted and processed. Rebates will never exceed the cost of the equipment being installed. |
