KU Brings Energy Education for Children to Scott County Teachers
What:
School teachers from Scott County will attend a free energy education workshop designed to help them implement energy programs in their classrooms which correspond to Kentucky Core Content and the National Science Education and Standards.
Tuesday's training will be one of many statewide workshops sponsored by Kentucky Utilities Company. The utility has partnered with the Kentucky National Energy Education Development (NEED) Project to deliver professional development in energy efficiency and energy-related concepts curriculum at no charge to all public, private, and independent elementary and middle schools that receive electric service through KU or LG&E.
Teachers will leave the workshop with the training and materials they need to help them improve student achievement in energy-related education, and receive on-going classroom support for their efforts.
Media is invited to attend the training event and interview participating teachers and project coordinators. Please contact Cliff Feltham at cliff.feltham@eon-us.com or at 859-367-1105 for additional information.
