E.ON U.S. Employees Pitch in to Beautify Areas Across State

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — More than 300 representatives from E.ON U.S. will perform volunteer service in 10 locations across the state to pitch in and help 'Clean Up the Commonwealth' this Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.

The effort is a part of E.ON U.S.'s fourth annual Day of Caring, where employees and families from Louisville Gas and Electric Company, Kentucky Utilities Company and Western Kentucky Energy Corp. work on projects to improve the quality of life in the communities in which they live and work.

"Community involvement has always been a cornerstone of our company and its employees," said Chip Keeling, Vice President of Communications for E.ON U.S. "And, to bring hundreds of employees and their families together for work that will improve our environment speaks well for those people. It just demonstrates how they are willing to go beyond their daily work for the good of their community."

In Louisville Metro, LG&E volunteers will perform service at Carrie Gaulbert Cox Park. Volunteers will paint restrooms, remove invasive species, debris and litter. Additional volunteers from LG&E's Cane Run Generating Station will beautify the landscape at River Valley cemetery near the power plant.

KU volunteers will work in Lexington to spruce up the Arboretum and also perform community service work at seven other locations across the utility's service territory.
