E.ON U.S. Places First in the Midwest in 2007 J.D. Power Survey

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Customers of Louisville Gas and Electric Company and Kentucky Utilities Company, subsidiaries of Louisville-based E.ON U.S., continue to give the utilities the highest marks for customer satisfaction. J.D. Power and Associates today announced that E.ON U.S. has once again placed first in the Midwest for residential electric customer satisfaction.

For the eighth time in nine years, customers of LG&E and KU have made E.ON U.S. number one in the Midwest. Overall customer satisfaction is based on performance in six factors: power quality and reliability; company image; price and value; communications; billing and payment; and customer service.

"Winning this award is a testament to the tireless commitment and hard work of our more than 3,500 employees," said Victor A. Staffieri, Chairman, CEO, and President of E.ON U.S. "I also express my deepest gratitude to all of our customers for the trust and confidence they continue to place in us every day."

The study results are based on customer responses from 29,042 telephone interviews conducted from March 23, 2007, through June 5, 2007, among residential customers of the 76 electric utilities across the continental United States.

In 2007, E.ON U.S. led the nation's investor-owned utilities in residential electric customer satisfaction. Since 1999, E.ON U.S. has finished no lower than third in the Midwest and has won 17 first place awards in the J.D. Power Survey.

E.ON U.S., headquartered in Louisville, Ky., is a subsidiary of E.ON A.G., the world's largest investor-owned energy services provider. E.ON U.S. is a diversified energy services company that owns and operates Louisville Gas and Electric Company, a regulated utility that serves 324,000 natural gas and 398,000 electric customers in Louisville and 16 surrounding counties, and Kentucky Utilities Company, a regulated electric utility in Lexington, Ky., that serves 531,000 customers in 77 Kentucky counties and five counties in Virginia.
