E.ON U.S. Places First In The Midwest In J.D. Power Survey

(LOUISVILLE, Ky.) Another year, another J.D. Power award has been added to a growing collection. J.D. Power and Associates today announced that E.ON U.S., parent of Louisville Gas and Electric Company and Kentucky Utilities Company, has placed first in the Midwest for residential electric customer satisfaction.

For the seventh time in eight years, customers of LG&E and KU have made E.ON U.S. number one in the Midwest. Overall customer satisfaction is based on performance in six factors: power quality and reliability; company image; price and value; communications; billing and payment; and customer service.

"Employees all over our organization deserve praise for always going the extra mile and putting customers first," said Vic Staffieri, Chairman, CEO, and President of E.ON U.S. "I also extend my deepest gratitude to all of our customers for the trust and confidence they place in us every day."

The study results are based on customer responses from 26,688 telephone interviews conducted from March 23, 2006 through June 6, 2006 among residential customers of the 76 largest electric utilities across the continental United States.

Since 1999, E.ON U.S. has finished no lower than third in the Midwest and twice has led the nation in the J.D. Power Survey.

E.ON U.S., headquartered in Louisville, Ky., is a subsidiary of E.ON A.G., the world's largest investor-owned energy services provider. E.ON U.S. is a diversified energy services company that owns and operates Louisville Gas and Electric Company, a regulated utility that serves 321,000 natural gas and 394,000 electric customers in Louisville and 16 surrounding counties, and Kentucky Utilities Company, a regulated electric utility in Lexington, Ky., that serves 525,000 customers in 77 Kentucky counties and five counties in Virginia.
