E.ON U.S. Offers Online Commercial Energy Calculator and Energy Library

(LOUISVILLE, Ky.) Without even so much as lifting a hammer, Louisville Gas and Electric Company and Kentucky Utilities Company are helping commercial and small industrial customers discover cost-savings with the launch of the companies' online energy calculator.

The calculator is designed to assist business customers in identifying what facility improvements and behavior changes will help them achieve the biggest energy savings.

The interactive commercial energy calculator requires only a few inputs from the customer before instantly generating a business energy analysis and the potential dollar savings for each behavior modification, lighting change or facility improvement made by the customer. The calculator is pre-programmed to account for local weather data and rates for LG&E and KU.

"We're here to help our customers gain more control over their energy costs," said Dave Vogel, E.ON U.S. Vice President of Retail Services. "The more tools we can get into the hands of our customers, the more control they have over their energy spending."

The Commercial Energy Calculator does not replace the Company's traditional free Commercial Energy Audit, where customers can request to have a qualified technician visit their business to help them identify potential energy savings. "Placing this calculator online allows customers 24/7 access," said Vogel. "It's an excellent supplement to our more traditional energy education and awareness efforts."

If a customer discovers that they could realize significant savings by changing their water heater, they can click on the "hyperlink" provided in the calculator. This feature takes the customer directly to the water heater section in the new Energy Reference Library that allows them to drill down for additional information about water heater models and efficiencies.

From air conditioners and heaters to insulation and appliances, customers also can access the full Energy Reference Library directly from the home page and select from a menu of topics. The library features hundreds of photos, illustrations and diagrams to help customers learn about commercial energy efficiency and includes an interactive alphabetical index.

LG&E and KU residential customers also can access the companies' online Home Energy Calculator at www.eon-us.com to see what home improvements and usage pattern changes could save them the most money in terms of annual energy costs.
