LG&E Energy Changes Name to E.ON U.S.

After more than three successful years as part of the E.ON family, LG&E Energy LLC, the parent company of Louisville Gas and Electric Company, Kentucky Utilities Company and Western Kentucky Energy, announced today it will change its name to E.ON U.S. LG&E, KU, and - the companies that customers are most familiar with - will continue to operate under their current identities.

The name change is expected to be seamless to customers. The management team and employee levels of LG&E, KU and will remain intact and customers will continue to receive the same reliable energy and award-winning service from entities they know. Changes will include renaming the Louisville headquarters to the E.ON U.S. Center and the LG&E Energy Foundation to the E.ON U.S. Foundation. Customer bills, newsletters and service trucks will remain basically the same; except the tagline under the logos, which used to say "A subsidiary of LG&E Energy," will now read "an E.ON company."

"LG&E, KU and have built rich histories with the communities they serve and we believe it is important to maintain that continuity and trust. Our customers will continue to receive the same reliable energy with award-winning service they've come to expect from the same familiar companies, but with the added stability of E.ON," said Victor A. Staffieri, E.ON U.S. Chairman, CEO and President. "This has been a successful three-year partnership, and the new name further demonstrates E.ON's commitment to Kentucky and the U.S. market. We were pleased last spring when E.ON announced plans to maintain its presence in the U.S. This is another important milestone in the history of our company."

Since its acquisition of the LG&E Energy in 2002, E.ON AG has demonstrated its commitment to Kentucky by supporting LG&E Energy's civic and charitable donations of more than $10 million and earmarking more than $2.3 billion in cleaner, more abundant energy.
