Registration Deadline Approaching For LG&E Energy Foundation Street Ball Showdown
(Louisville, Ky. - June 6, 2005) The registration deadline is next week for the region's premier 3-on-3 basketball tournaments. The LG&E Energy Foundation Street Ball Showdown will be held June 25 and 26 in downtown Louisville, and to be "In the game" teams must register by Monday, June 13.
The event will feature 2,500 players of all ages and more than 50,000 spectators from all across Kentucky and southern Indiana. This year's event will be held in the Slugger Field parking lot at Witherspoon and Preston streets near Waterfront Park.
The tournament has divisions for youth, men, women, co-eds and local media outlets. Teams are placed in divisions based on age, height and skill level. Registration requires four members per team, three players plus an alternate.

In its 18th year, Street Ball Showdown is the major fund-raiser for The Cabbage Patch — a 95-year-old non-profit organization that empowers families and children to be self-sufficient by helping them maximize their social, emotional, physical, moral, spiritual, economic and educational potential. The Cabbage Patch programs include safe after-school activities, tutoring and counseling services, parenting classes and other enrichment opportunities. Annually, The Cabbage Patch serves thousands of children and families through these activities.
