LG&E Energy's Business Service Center Celebrates Milestones
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - (May 31, 2005) This month marked a milestone for LG&E Energy's Business Service Center as it celebrated its five-year anniversary. The center, with representatives located in Louisville and Lexington, is dedicated to serving the unique needs of the LG&E and KU business customers.
The BSC was formed in early 2000 in response to concerns expressed by the company's business customers that they needed dedicated service from representatives trained to serve their unique business needs. The company responded when it opened the BSC on May 1, 2000. The needs of the company's business customers can differ substantially from those of its residential customers. Representatives are specially trained to handle questions about the efficiency-intensive needs of business customers and to address requests for new service to expanded service, from power quality and reliability concerns to billing questions and outage reports.
"Our Business Service Center team is the voice of the company for our business customers," said David Daniel, BSC Operations Manager. "Their needs are different from the needs to a typical residential customer, and they appreciate knowing the company has a dedicated center with representatives and specialists who are knowledgeable about their specific issues and concerns."
During its first five years, the BSC has seen a sizeable increase in the number of business customers it helps. The BSC received nearly 150,000 calls in its first year of operation, while that number escalated to more than 258,000 calls last year.
As if a five-year anniversary weren't reason enough to celebrate, the BSC this week celebrated another significant milestone when it handled its one millionth customer call.
