Registration Deadline Approaching for LG&E Energy Foundation Streetball Showdown

(Louisville, Ky. - June 7, 2004) The registration deadline is this week for one of the region's premier 3-on-3 basketball tournaments. The LG&E Energy Foundation Streetball Showdown will be held June 26 and 27 in downtown Louisville, and teams must register by Friday, June 11 in order to compete.

The event expects to feature 3,500 players of all ages and more than 60,000 spectators from all across Kentucky and southern Indiana. This year's event will be held at Witherspoon and Preston streets near Waterfront Park.

The tournament has divisions for youth, men, women, co-eds, wheelchair athletes, and local media outlets. Teams are placed in divisions based on age, height and skill level. Registration requires four members per team, three players plus an alternate.

Teams can register online at www.streetballshowdown.com. Registration forms are also available at area McDonald's restaurants. For more information, visit the website at www.streetballshowdown.com or call the LG&E Energy Foundation Streetball Office at 502.636.1888 or 800.445.0256.
