Utility Work Will Cause Delays on Highway 22
(Louisville, Ky. — October 1, 2003) Motorists will need to take extra care on Highway 22 for the next 12 weeks as crews working for Louisville Gas and Electric Company (LG&E) erect a new power line between Highway 1694 and Haunz Lane.
The line is part of a $2 million project needed to meet growing residential and commercial demand along the Highway 22 corridor.
During the work, portions of Highway 22 may be reduced to one lane from time to time between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Motorists are asked to be cautious of work vehicles merging onto the highway during this period.
"We know there will be some inconveniences associated with the work, but we take pride in providing reliable service to our customers. This upgrade is necessary in order for us to maintain our commitments to serve the growing demand of our residential and business customers in the area," said David Huff, LG&E Energy's director of Distribution Operations.
The work is being conducted by Pike Electric on behalf of LG&E.
LG&E is a wholly owned subsidiary of LG&E Energy Corp. that serves customers in Louisville, Ky., and 16 surrounding counties.
