Demand Conservation today!

Electric meter closeupYou can help the environment and save energy, too.

Sign up for our Demand Conservation program today. You can reduce energy demand by signing up for a free device that we connect to your central air conditioner, heat pump or electric water heater.

Demand Conservation helps reduce peak demand, which enables us to use our power plants more efficiently and delay the addition of new ones.

As a bonus, we'll credit your utility bill $5 per month (up to $20 annually) for each of the four summer months (June through September) for each central air conditioning unit.

Additional bonuses apply for water heaters. These programs are available only in areas where our radio signal is accessible.

Looking for ways to make your home more energy-efficient while helping the environment?

ENERGY STAR logoDid you know that one of the simplest ways to make your home more energy-efficient and to help the environment is to change the five most frequently used lights (or replace the bulbs in them) in your home to ENERGY STAR qualified models. Follow the other simple steps below (suggested by the Environmental Protection Agency) to make your home even more energy-efficient.

  • Look for other ENERGY STAR products available in more than 40 product categories including lighting and home appliances.
  • Heat smartly. Have your heating equipment inspected annually and change your furnace filter regularly. Use a programmable thermostat and replace old equipment with ENERGY STAR qualified models.
  • Seal your home by sealing air leaks and adding insulation. Choose ENERGY STAR qualified windows when replacing your home's existing windows.
  • Tell family and friends — help spread the word that energy efficiency is good for your home and the environment!
