Kentucky's industrial sector electric power costs rank 4th lowest in the nation.
Kentucky's industrial power costs are the 2nd lowest when compared to states east of the Mississippi River and are over 34 percent lower than the U.S. average. Electric power in Kentucky is distributed by four investor owned electric utilities, thirty municipal electric systems, twenty-one rural electric cooperatives and the Tennessee Valley Authority. Recent average annual costs (cents per KWH) for Kentucky and selected states are shown below.
