As an Accounting Analyst in the Regulatory Accounting department, Derek Bell has been with the company since December 2008. Bell applied to the company after hearing good things about the company from his former classmates at the University of Louisville, where he earned his bachelor's degree in finance.

With Derek's help, his group was able to streamline an important finance process for the company, reducing it from 10 hours to eight hours per month. Derek also has analyzed data for the Kentucky and Virginia rate cases.

What do you like about working here?

How has the company helped you?
The company has made it a lot easier to complete my MBA through the tuition reimbursement program. Also, the support and advice I've been given by my manager has been great.

What would you say to potential applicants to LG&E and KU?
I would tell them they're applying for a position at a company that truly cares about its employees, the community and the environment. If hired, they'll be provided with valuable experiences that will continue to benefit them in all aspects of their life.
